Preston graduated with a degree in Finance from North Carolina State University in 2007, he began his career working at Morgan Keegan & Co., where he and his partner managed over $250 million in client’s assets. Morgan Keegan was later acquired by Raymond James Financial, at which point Preston decided to move to the independent brokerage side where he could better serve his clients.
During Preston’s financial career he has worked with many clients to defer paying taxes and preserve income by helping them process their 1031 exchanges into a Delaware Statutory Trust. Examining the growing need for this service for the real estate owning, baby boomer population beginning to retire, Preston decided to concentrate solely on alternative options for their 1031 exchange proceeds.
Preston is a fully licensed North Carolina Real Estate Broker, an independent advisor with his Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 6 (Investment Company and Variable Contracts Representative), Health and Life Insurance Licenses, and in addition, a Certified Financial Planner™. Preston enjoys partnering with investors, real estate owners and operators, local business brokers, CPA's and qualified intermediaries in order to assist in the sale of commercial and investment property via a 1031 exchange.
